Do you validate essential functions and test criteria? If so, how?

Larry Feeler:

Well, approximately three years ago, we met up with a company and developed a software program to validate the essential functions. This company is out of California. They're an EEO compliance group. So we felt like they would be the most beneficial person to work with to develop this process. So we actually developed a software program where you just enter the push, pull forces, the size of the object, how many reputations, all these things, and it calculates for you the essential functions for that position. And then you validate them with the incumbent workers who agree that this simulation replicates what I do at work. And once you do that, you've met all 13 requirements in the Uniform Guidelines to validate your essential functions.
