Biography

Marlee Schmitt has been the Director of Marketing for the Centre of Rehabilitation Excellence, CORE for 8 years and has also acted as Director of Marketing for Longview Occupational Medicine Clinic (LOMC) for 11 years.  CORE, LOMC and Longview Regional medical Center serve as healthcare providers under an industrial umbrella that provides consistent occupational treatment and rehabilitation.

 

With over 20 years of experience in public relations, marketing and public speaking, Marlee’s expertise combines the process of determining needs, identifying services to meet those needs, promoting and implementing the services and developing a market plan.  She works closely with physician practices and also promotes pro-active measures, including WorkSTEPS, to businesses/industries within a 60-mile radius.  Marlee has been instrumental in turning a number of local companies into national WorkSTEPS accounts.

 

Public speaking is an important part of her position.  She has been a motivational speaker for grade school through college students and has presented seminars on customer service and effective communication, including numerous presentations for economic development corporations.

 

Marlee believes that community networking and involvement is an essential element of any marketing plan and has served in a number of capacities for the Longview Partnership.  She recently received the Longview Partnership’s Committee Chairman of the Year Award for her role in serving as chairman of the Small Business Committee for the past 2 years.

 

She has worked with a number of non-profit organizations, serving as public relations/media chairperson and has served as the March of Dimes WalkAmerica teamwalk chair for 1 year and as chairperson for the past 8 years.  The 2002 walk raised over $196,000 for an increase of $73,000 over the past 3 years.
